David Scala is a New York-based writer and director for the screen and stage, who received his BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. His short films have screened and won top prizes over 50 festivals nationally and abroad, including the Palm Spring International ShortFest, Rhode Island International Film Festival, Boston LGBT Film Festival, and Festival MIX Brasil. As a writer, his feature screenplays have been a Finalist for the Sundance Sloan Screenwriting Lab, Hamptons Film Festival Screenwriter's Lab and the NYU/Sloan Feature Film Award. He was also a top finalist for the 2016 Jameson First Shot film competition, hosted by Academy Award-winner Kevin Spacey and Academy Award-nominee Maggie Gyllehnaal. Born and raised in the farmlands of New Jersey, Mr. Scala is currently based out of Manhattan.
